Job Description:

District Growers is looking for a Production Assistant to help with processing cannabis and creating auxiliary products. We are looking for an individual that fits within our close-knit team oriented work environment that will help maintain our goal of creating the highest quality cannabis products on the market.

District Growers is a local cannabis cultivation business in NE Washington, DC that maintains the mission of “grow true”. Our team of talented diverse staff and progressive cultivation and production methods are a source of pride for us. You must be enthusiastic, willing to learn, and apply your skills/knowledge towards your role as a Production Assistant. This position includes a 6-month training period and will require 20 hours per week of availability. For this position, you must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work in small spaces, have immediate availability to begin working, and *NO PRIOR FELONY CONVICTIONS OR DRUG RELATED MISDEMEANORS. FBI FINGERPRINT BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIRED FOR LICENSING!*

Responsibilities and Duties of the position

  • Help with processing cannabis post-harvest – this includes:
  • Trimming flowers and packaging products for direct sale
  • Making concentrates for edibles and other auxiliary products
  • Processing products for delivery
  • Maintaining a clean environment to meet food safety standards (and more)
  • Offer creative input when developing/improving new and existing product lines
  • Be able to handle gardening and kitchen tasks as assigned
  • Properly track products in Metrc operating system

Qualifications

  • Training: No formal training is required; training will be provided. Training will focus on daily production tasks but will also include a portion of garden training.
  • Previous job experience in the following fields is a plus: Culinary Arts, Restaurants, Mathematics, Marketing, Organic Gardening, Agriculture, Botany
  • Familiarity with basic kitchen concepts and food safety requirements
  • Ability to maintain records and manage daily tasks with minimal supervision
