Job Description

This role supports the Legal team in assisting with regulatory and legislative coordination within the states where we operate or plan to operate in addition to other compliance related duties. You will work under the direction of the General Counsel and provide legal support by reviewing contracts, proposals, letters of intent, and term sheets with respect to proposed transactions within the cannabis industry.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists the Legal team to ensure compliance with all applicable state, county and municipal laws, ordinances and regulations, including the specific cannabis regulations for that state.
  • Analyzes and summarizes complex legal documents, including contracts, and suggesting alterations to those documents
  • Performing due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts, agreements, and mergers and acquisitions
  • The ability to interpret and apply legal principles and procedures and develop effective working relationships with co-workers
  • Assists in the application process for entering new markets and assists in drafting and editing license applications
  • Assists with implementing PharmaCann’s policies, procedures, and best practices to promote compliance.
  • Stays up to date with changes in rules and regulations
  • Prepare and review nondisclosure and consulting agreements
  • Develops solutions to complex legal questions
Qualifications

  • Strong familiarity with standard legal concepts and procedures
  • Possess superior academic credentials, as well as exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
  • Well-organized and professional, capable of meeting deadlines, and adept at managing multiple complex projects
  • Exceptional organizational and file management skills a must
  • Detail-oriented

Education and Experience

  • Juris Doctorate Degree required from an ABA accredited school
  • This is an entry-level position. Law firm experience preferred, but not required
