Junior Accountant

MacArthur Investments LLC is seeking an accountant to join our finance and accounting department in the fast growth cannabis industry. Qualified candidates will have strong accounting skills, experience with Quickbooks, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently. Hours and location can be flexible.

General Job Responsibilities:

Work with portfolio companies to perform general accounting functions, bookkeeping, and financial reporting. Provide financial information and reports to management to aid in decision making and strategy.

General Job Duties:

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information / transactions.
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

Requirements:

• Minimum Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or equivalent education.
• Experience with Quickbooks
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office required (proficiency in Excel)
• Public accounting experience is preferred
