This is a permanent ITS4 Systems Analyst position

Your opportunity at a glance
The Information Technology Services Division (ITSD) of the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board (WSLCB) is a fast-paced, quickly adapting part of our business and is integral in finding, implementing and maintaining systems for our agency. At this time, the ITSD is announcing an exciting opportunity for an IT security Internship. This is a paid internship that is expected to last six months. This position is for current full-time undergraduate/graduate student in good academic standing in an IT graduate program. As the IT security intern you will be responsible for assisting the CISO with many components of the agency's information security program.

Duties
  • Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Research and evaluate applications and services for use by the agency. Provide a matrix when possible, detailing features within each different application or service.
  • Assistance with the deployment and upkeep of the information Technology Security website content.
  • Provide first level compliance monitoring and investigations.
  • Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks and servers as required.
  • Assist with applications/tools including but not limited to SIEM, IPS, and SolarWinds tools.
  • Perform compliance audits against agency accepted security controls.
  • Record and track IT security incidents, including but not limited to compromised accounts, e-mail threats, and abuse reports from various sources.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be available 30 hours each week
  • Must be a full-time undergraduate/graduate student in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, Microsoft Word, Visio, Excel, and web design (HTML or WYSIWYG editor).
  • Preference given to students enrolled with a concentration in Information Technology or majoring in Computer Science.
