Geektek's services span a variety of industries, including manufacturing, entertainment, retail, non-profits and even art galleries. The talented team of more than forty members provides services such as on-site client service, remote managed IT services, managed security services, marketing and sales. In addition, GeekTek is the leading IT provider and technology thought leader in the cannabis industry and has entered the cannabis industry as an ancillary business. Who You Are
This position will be located in our headquarters in Sherman Oaks, California, but you will be working at our clients' locations in the Los Angeles area. You will also work closely with the team in India and the United States through video chat, instant messaging, e-mail, phone, and through our software. It is important that you have excellent communication skills in English, both written and oral. We are a fast-paced company that is expanding rapidly and we are seeking team members who will share our vision for the future and work collaboratively in order to accomplish GeekTek's goals. We pride ourselves on providing superior service to our clients, which includes having attention to detail, following the processes in place, and being able to adapt to a variety of situations.
Responsibilities:
1. Write and post technical job descriptions
2.Lead the creation of a recruiting and interviewing plan for each open position.
3. Source potential candidates on niche platforms, like Stack Overflow and Github, other portals
4. Understanding the needs of the hiring manager's questions that'll help to identify the right candidate
5. Parse specialized skills and qualifications to screen IT resumes
6. Interview candidates combining various methods (e.g. structured interviews, technical assessments and behavioral questions)
7. Coordinate with IT team leaders to forecast department goals and hiring needs
8. Participate in tech conferences and meetups to network with IT professionals
9. Conduct job and task analyses to document job duties and requirements
10. Conduct regular follow-up with managers to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. 3-5 years of experience in recruitment
2. Proven candidate sourcing and screening experience
3. Computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills.
5. Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork.
6. Able to collect and interpret data-based measurements to demonstrate the effectiveness or failure of the recruitment system from position opening to on-boarding.
7. Skills in database management and record keeping.
