The Role
The Inventory and Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all inventory related tasks for our Maryland RISE Dispensary locations. You will capture accurate product cost data and ensure the data is properly reflected in the company’s information and accounting systems. This role will be essential in assessing and improving profitability while providing support for accurate and meaningful financial statements while serving as a liaison between store management in Maryland and the corporate accounting team, located in Chicago.

Responsibilities

Ensure company inventory is maintained in accordance with company policies and state regulations and is standardized across all stores in Maryland

Build and maintain expertise in company’s inventory software systems, serving as a point person for other personnel in your market

Manage internal transfers of products among stores

Serve as a liaison between the store management and the accounting team to ensure information sharing and communication is both effective and efficient
- Match purchase requisitions/orders with invoices and approve invoices for payment by accounting team

Maintain all ledgers related to inventory purchases.
- Track and issue weekly inventory report for assigned locations

Work with store personnel to resolve any discrepancies and answer questions

Establish local vendor accounts, including pricing and terms and maintain associated vendor records

Interface with vendors to resolve pricing discrepancies

Contribute to the ongoing development of business tools and solutions that improve the purchasing and inventory function

Evaluate inventory for excess and obsolescence and recommend reserve levels

Work with two store General Managers on timing and frequency of product ordering.
- Conduct month end physical inventory counts and any need month end related reconciliations
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering

3+ year previous supply chain work-related skill, knowledge, or experience specifically in purchasing and/or inventory systems

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Proficiency in MS Excel required
