General Description:
A Cannabis Company in Spokane, WA is currently looking for a Human Resources Manager to join our team! We currently operate two dispensaries in Spokane County and are ranked among the top 10% highest grossing retailers in the state of Washington. We achieved $10M in revenue last year and are on track to reach $20M in 2018. The Human Resources Manager would play a pivotal role in the company by managing staff, recruitment, hiring, employee recognition, employment law, employee relations, compensation strategy, culture oversight, and training. Candidate must be comfortable with cannabis at a minimum.
Role Responsibilities:
- Serve as the point person for all employee paperwork and documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to hiring manager/team in the recruitment process, which includes, discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with hiring managers/team; creating and updating job descriptions, posting job vacancies, pre-screening resumes, phone screening, scheduling interviews, checking references, conducting background checks and verifying educational degrees.
- Oversight of all employee new hire, corrective action and exit paperwork. Training and communication with all managers on compliance in these areas.
- Develop and administer programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
- Partner with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs and laws.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Management of PTO
- Management of all unemployment and workers compensation claims.
- Data entry and filing as needed
- Other duties as necessary for successful and efficient operations
Travel: This position may require light travel between 2 locations in Spokane County, less than 20 miles apart.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or relevant field
- 2+ years of human resources experience
- Ability to work 45-50 hours a week
- Demonstrated proficiency in research, development and implementation of policies and practices to achieve Company goals and/or regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication capability to effectively articulate company culture, policies, and practices.
- High level of interpersonal skill to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
- Must be comfortable discussing recreational marijuana
- Ability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Business, Management, or relevant field
- Specialized training in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, training, and preventive labor relations
