SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS

Grow cannabis plants suitable for use in cannabis based medicines

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Cloning of existing plant strains for future growth
• Managing the health of existing plants
• Setup and maintenance of plant feeding and light management systems
• Maintaining a clean a safe growing area
• Pest reduction through regular plant maintenance and application of nutrients
• Moving plants from different areas in the facility based on stages of growth
• Creation and updating of the grow space infrastructure
• Harvesting of mature plants
• Assessing the health of a plant and taking corrective action
• Data entry and inventory system use
• Communicate with team on daily basis
• Maintain inventory of cultivation supplies to ensure stability of plant stock.
• Operation and maintenance of motorized hydraulic equipment

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Site Cultivation Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma is required. Post secondary education in horticulture or related field is preferred. Previous experience with a medical or legal recreational grow is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires the ability to bend, squat, turn and otherwise orient oneself to inspect and potentially remove elements from a cannabis plant of up to 7 feet tall and up to 5 feet wide. This role can require the lifting and movement of materials up to and exceeding 50 pounds. Pushing and pulling pallet lifts with heavy loads can also be necessary. This role also interacts with process that create dust and noise. Protective equipment such as breathing masks, eye protection, body coverings and ear protection are provided. It is common to spend a majority of the day standing or walking.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job is performed in a greenhouse and industrial setting. Exposure to sunlight, outdoor elements, agricultural chemicals, natural beneficial insects and dust can be expected.
