Under this Project, the Health Impact Program Manager will be responsible for managing all analysis and community engagement work in support of cannabis health equity impact assessment, monitoring and investigation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The duties of the Health Impact Program Manager include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and manage cross-sector community stakeholder advisory groups
- Manage the acquisition of data from internal and external sources through appropriate data use agreements and human subject protection procedures
- Engage community organizations in qualitative data collection
- Represent the cannabis health equity team at relevant meetings and workgroups with cross-sector agency leaders
- Keep abreast of cannabis-related policy developments with health equity implications to inform the analytic work of the team
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills, knowledge of word processing, data entry, and use of Internet and Internet research
- Knowledge of principles of public health including disease prevention, social determinants of health and health equity
Education/Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- A Master’s Degree in Public Health or related social science field from an accredited college or university preferred
- Three years’ experience with program management in the public or nonprofit sectors
- Experience with engagement of community based organizations in the health and/or social services fields
- Experience conducting research literature reviews in the health or social sciences
Certificates/Licenses
- Valid Class C California Driver's License, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable, timely transportation for travel to a variety of sites throughout Los Angeles County
