Job Description:

Summary: Applies principles of accounting to track and maintain records of grower contracts and paddy rice inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following.

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Processes grower contracts in system and processes for payment if applicable.
  • Performs Paddy Cost calculations.
  • Calculates, prepares, and submits monthly Mill reports.
  • Retrieves paddy rice weight tags from the plant location at 1620 East Kentucky Avenue in Woodland, then maintains and records paddy rice weight tags.
  • Ensures all freight invoices and storage receipts are properly posted and processed for payment.
  • Makes appropriate entries transferring dry paddy units between warehouses; generate and audit reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Enters and tracks loan documents into appropriate system.
  • Processes paddy rice purchases into the system and update on a weekly basis.
  • Tracks, prepares and submits Agriculture Statistics Report.
  • Prepares and submits an assessment report to industry agencies, assessing toll milling fees and processing for payment if applicable

. * Processes closing warehouse sheets and all grower related reports to ensure accuracy and participates in periodic stock counts.

  • Participates in month-end close processing.
  • Reconciles assigned general ledger account balances to subsystem reports and tracking worksheets, then investigates and corrects variances as necessary.
  • Provides all requested schedules to external and internal auditors.
  • Documents and maintains desk procedures.
  • Assists in occasional and/or seasonal administrative tasks as needed.

Education and/or Experience: Four-year bachelor's degree (B. A.) in business with a concentration in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Database software; Inventory software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
