Position:
Grower Representative for nut processing/marketing company.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and develop relationships with growers to contract them for processing and marketing services.
Promote the company by attending industry events and hosting grower lunches/meetings.
Develop strategies to attract growers to the company that are beneficial to both the grower and the company.
Monitor annual crop development and keep managers informed of crop size, quality, and timing.
Advise growers of proper Good Ag Practices consistent with the industry standards.
Advise growers of harvest timing when needed
Manage harvest by coordinating trucking of field loads and from grower to the processing plant. This to be done in cooperation with one or more trucking companies.
Negotiate trucking rates and approve billing during harvest.
Act as the liaison between most field/grower related activities and the company including the processing plant and sales staff.
Write periodical letters/emails to the growers regarding grower payments and grower events.
Summary:
This position is basically the face of the company to growers within the industry. You will be the connection and a valuable source of information for the rest of the company. You will work closely with managers to promote a positive image for the company and provide the best service and returns possible for our growers. The position requires extensive travel throughout the San Juaquin Valley and during the harvest period of mid-August through approximately mid-October will require you to be available 7 days a week to service clients and coordinate harvest.
