We are currently looking for people who want to help us grow flowers at our commercial greenhouse facility located in Rising Sun, Maryland.

The Grower Assistant job is a full-time, entry-level position in our growing department. Some experience growing in a greenhouse environment is preferred, but not required.

Shift hours are generally 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday with some weekend hours required.

Grower Assistants are responsible for assisting Section Growers with growing the most up-to-date varieties of the highest quality in the assigned production area. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Proper irrigation of crops
• Monitoring crops for growth, health, insects, and diseases
• Fertilizer and nutrient management and application
• Crop record keeping
• Maintenance and general housekeeping of the assigned greenhouse section
• Other duties as assigned by the Section Grower

Qualifications or skills needed:

• Ability to accurately follow instructions and effectively communicate
• Horticultural knowledge or education
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated

Applicants must be able to:

• Maneuver a watering hose
• Be on your feet for 8+ hours each day
• Lift, carry, and move 25+ pounds
• Work in greenhouse environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, dust, dirt and other possible allergens
