Up and coming cannabis producer in Tacoma, WA is looking for motivated and passionate plant specialist/nutrionist to help with the production process. He/She will be helping with the day to day production in a modern greenhouse setting. The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge in horticulture, passion to learn and self-develop and an excellent eye for detail.
Job Description:
- Work with Lead Grower and Production Managers to ensure consistent plant health and optimal grow conditions, including climate control and environmental inputs to maximize quality and production
- Perform water, nutrient and soil tests; determine nutrient selection based on analytical observation and production schedules as well as calibrate nutrient testing instruments
- Follow production schedules and communicate all variances and/or deviations to Production Manager.
- Collaborate with Production Manager to determine irrigation frequency and duration;
- Work with Lead Grower to put together pest control procedures; assess plants for signs of disease and insect damage, reporting findings to Production Manager;
- Work with the growers to maintain mother plants for research, tissue culture and future production; Monitor clone production according to harvest schedules;
- Analyze plant strains and methods to increase strain yield and potency
- Keep accurate and consistent records including plant measurements and inventory, trial and daily production, data and records for WLCB, etc
- Contribute to facility maintenance and cleanliness, safety and compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor/Master degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, and/or similar field. Strong understanding of plant cultivation, nutrients application, pest and disease control.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills including ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to follow very strict production requirements, compliance and ethical practices
- Passion about learning and self-developing
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Some experience in large greenhouse commercial growing/and/or cultivation is preferred but not required.
- Advanced knowledge of cannabis plant and genetics strongly preferred;
