GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Grower is directly responsible for the growing operations of the Arkansas facility. Those responsibilities include working with operation for coordination of demand planning, scheduling of crops to meet demand, crop management, harvesting, packaging, facility sanitation and crew management. In addition, the Grower is responsible for cost management and efficiency and yield improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Constant care and monitoring of plants for optimum crop quality, climate, and yield
- Responsible for all aspects of growing, including: planting, transplanting, watering, fertilizing, spraying, harvesting, and testing
- Lead the growing/farm operations team associates
- Assist with developing/documenting high quality standards and work instructions for consistently growing crops using computer database
- Ensures preventative maintenance is performed on each piece of equipment as scheduled
- Monitor/control computerized greenhouse environments
- Identify crop problems and determine a solution
- Drive efficiency and yield improvement
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties in accordance with the company policies and established procedures
- Manage day-to-day customer interaction
- Develops lasting relationships with customer personnel that foster customer ties
- Interact with other departments in problems solving ideas
- Maintain clean work area and adhere to 5S standards on a regular basis
- Drive continuous improvement
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Knowledgeable in the area of hydroponics, plant development and commercial farming. Possesses strong communication skills, planning and organizing ability, problem solving and attention to detail. Ability to excel in a fast paced, start-up environment. Possesses basic computer skills –including; Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point. Demonstrated ability to manage people and processes.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- BS or AS in Horticulture/Floriculture/Biology or related field or currently working towards degree; in addition to a degree, 1 or more years of relevant work experience to include controlled environment or greenhouse growing is required.
- Commercial growing for at least 1 year.
- Management experience is preferred.
