Grow Assistant
Reports To: Lead Grower(s), Master Growers, Director of Operations, CEO.
Position Level: 1
Summary of Position: A Grow Technician performs manual labor to assist in the upkeep, stoking, and fulfillment of growing medical cannabis for the organization. Duties of this position included, but are not limited to; watering, feeding, flushing, pruning, Grow Technicians are expected to follow the guidelines of the Lynn and Erin compassionate use act while growing the highest quantity cannabis, at the highest possible quality, for New Mexico’s medical cannabis patients.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Reliable source of transportation
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to lift 65 pounds unassisted, crouch, bend, stoop, and crawl to maneuver between plants/cultivation equipment as well as stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in an indoor cultivation warehouse, under controlled environmental conditions
- Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities, including the ability to work efficiently and accurately
- Basic math proficiency
- Ability to pass a state and federal background check, as well as a New Mexico Driver’s license
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are required for this position at the Medzen Services Inc:
- Washing pots, buckets, nutrient reservoirs, and other equipment
- Sanitizing rooms between harvests
- Trash disposal
- Janitorial and organizational duties, as assigned and mandated by Standard Operating Procedures
- Understanding plant pests and other perils, with a keen eye for spotting issues before they become a problem
- Ability to execute techniques consistently
- Adherence to Organizational Policy and Procedures, Code of Conduct, and all other Standard Operating Procedures
- This may also include functions for other facets of the organization, as delegated by the Master Grower
- All other duties as assigned by management
Everyday tasks:
- Keeping an orderly area around the sink and work area
- Maintaining cleanliness standards of the facility
- Assisting with irrigation set up
- Following and completing daily sanitation duties
- Washing laundry as needed
- Preparing and prepping trellising materials
- Replacing CO2 tanks and emptying Dehumidifiers
Advanced tasks:
- Mixing daily feed solutions and irrigation of cannabis plants in all stages of production
- Staking and tying up cannabis plants
- Preparing clones and maintaining them
- Defoliating and maintaining cannabis plants and canopies in both vegetative and flowering stages
- Topping plants in vegetative stages
- Trellising cannabis plants in vegetative and flowering stages
- Repotting cannabis plants in all vegetative stages
- Maintaining daily logs of data and tracking information
- Maintaining grow equipment
- Maintaining Mother plants
- Filling out inventory and supplies sheets
- Maintaining IPM schedule and filling out pesticide application record
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Salary: $10.00 to $12.50 /hour
