Overview:
As the Group Manager, Brand Strategy & Management, you are responsible for the overall development of consumer communication strategy, integration, alignment and consistency of the Weedmaps brand to drive consideration and acquisition of qualified customers. The group manager will play a key role in the evolution and implementation of the overall brand marketing strategy and work closely with a broad group of stakeholders to carry out the team mission. We are seeking a classically trained strategist with solid knowledge of cannabis culture and entrepreneurial mindset. You are methodical thinker and a pragmatic doer who can motivate/enroll internal and external stakeholders to deliver measurable results in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the acquisition and product marketing team to define the value proposition, positioning, target and messaging.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to implement comprehensive 360-degree programs across all consumer touchpoints to generate awareness, drive conversion and reinforce the brand narrative at every point along the journey.
  • Ensure integration across disciplines and be the keeper of a centralized marketing roadmap/calendar to optimize investment.
  • Understand the consumer needs and market landscape to form recommendations for marketing mix elements, messaging hierarchy and other business building initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the field marketing team in the development and execution of programs to ensure brand and business priorities are aligned from initial program planning, field executions, performance analysis, learning and optimization.
  • Manage agency partners in the development of brand strategies, creative manifestation, research/insights, innovations.
  • Work closely with Consumer Insights team to determine brand health, customer profile, and ad effectiveness.
  • Plan holistically and forward-thinking, yet be nimble and address the needs to change.
  • Plan and direct workflow to avoid “fire drills” and is actively ready to discuss any aspect of brand programs.
  • Actively initiate, moderate, and streamline conversations to drive consensus leading to actions.
  • Ensure legal and management approval of all messaging documents, contracts, and materials related to all campaigns and integrated programs.
  • Ensure all campaigns are planned and executed on time.
Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years brand planning and advertising experience. Must have CPG experience managing multi-channel, multi-million dollar brands delivering high volume results in lean organization under severe resource constraint.
  • Knowledge of authentic cannabis culture.
  • Experience with research methodologies such as brand health studies, customer tracker studies, segmentation studies, maxdiff studies, focus groups, ethnographies, copy testing, survey design, and conjoint analysis.
  • Experience with syndicated research such as Nielsen, MRI, Simmons.
  • Strategic in nature, insights oriented, problem-solving driven.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with expertise in managing multiple projects through competing and conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to combine a disciplined approach with flexibility.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills to work with and influence individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Supervisory/management experience with ability to lead and mentor others in a highly collaborative environment.
