Greenhouse Supervisor/Grower

Cedar Spring Farms, an established greenhouse and hydroponic farm operation with over 20 years of experience in the business, is looking for a Greenhouse Supervisor/Grower to work in a growing agricultural setting in southwest Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Job Description: This position oversees vegetable and greenery production in and outside of a large greenhouse environment. This candidate selected will work closely with the General Farm Manager to set up planting & harvesting schedules, marketing, as well as the flow and function of greenhouse systems including maintenance. The goal of this position includes supervising a team to repair and maintain all aspects of the growing operation.

Qualifications:

• College Degree preferably in an agricultural field is desired, but not required
• Supervisory experience
• Able to work well with others in all settings
• Effective communication skills both written and oral
• Understanding of alternative growing methods
• Knowledge of integrated pest management and/or natural and biological controls
• Able to speak Spanish is a plus, but not required
• Capable of working in varying temperatures and high humidity
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and work in a drug-free workplace

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Managing, motivating, training of greenhouse personnel
• Schedule employees to work on projects, repairs, and preventative maintenance
• Assist in all areas of greenhouse as needed (propagation, planting, plant maintenance, harvesting)
• Spray and mix natural types of fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides
• Record daily tasks, plantings, and notes on computer and include in a weekly report to the General Farm Manager
• Order seed, plants, and materials on a scheduled basis
• Correlate delivery to restaurants and other organizations in conjunction with harvest schedule

• Other duties and assignments as needed

Normal hours for this position are Monday- Friday 7:00am-5:00pm and 7:0oam-12:00pm Saturday. The weekend shift may include selling produce at the local farmer’s market.
