Greenhouse Grower

J.W. Jung Seed Company is a mail-order and retail company that ships quality seeds, plants and gardening accessories to all 50 states. We have five garden centers in the state of Wisconsin with our corporate headquarters stationed in Randolph, WI. We are currently seeking a Greenhouse Grower to work at our Randolph location.

This individual will work closely with the Greenhouse Manager to set up planting schedules and be involved in potting and maintaining annuals (hanging baskets, potted plants and vegetable production) as well as perennial plants as needed.

Qualified candidates must be willing to work wherever needed within the greenhouse and other departments throughout the Company. Must be willing and eligible to take and pass the pesticide applicators test, drive bobcat and forklift as well as lift 25-50 lbs. Position will require working in extreme hot and cold conditions. Must be able to stand, squat, sit, bend and reach for extended periods of time. Computer knowledge is helpful.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist in all areas of greenhouse as needed (propagation, planting annuals, vegetables and perennials)
• Spray pesticides and herbicides as needed
• Help in the maintenance of greenhouses
• Assist in the planting and maintenance of annuals and vegetable area
• Record plantings and notes on computer on a daily basis
• Cover greenhouses and perennials when needed
• Mix soil as needed for potting in greenhouse
• Order labels and be able to print labels on computer
• Organize plants to send to stores on a weekly basis

Normal hours for this position are Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with a rotating weekend shift. The weekend shift will consist of watering plants which will take approximately 3-8 hours depending on the time of season.
