Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer works closely with the Marketing Director to design branded digital and printed materials and graphics. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Research competitor and industry design standards and strategy
- Learn about the brand and become familiar with product lines and general brand vibe
- Help with implementation of Brand + Style Guidelines Handbook
- Creation of imagery/content for Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, Newsletters, Public Relations, Event Marketing, Merchandise and Printed Collateral
- General website, newsletter and blog design
This position requires self-direction, responsibility, drive and ambition. The Graphic Designer will be involved in every aspect of graphic design and branded representation of the business and will work closely with the Marketing Director to help make decisions and implement strategies. Applicant must be at least 21 years of age. Although the Graphic Designer will be working out of the corporate office, an MED badge is preferred and candidates with a current MED badge will be prioritized.
Requirements:
- Advanced skills in Adobe CS suite.
- Demonstrate creative problem solving skills, conceptual thinking, and foundational design skills with a strong portfolio.
- Possess expert understanding of multimedia design and experience building files for both print and digital.
- A discerning eye for branding aesthetics and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to find creative, unorthodox solutions when needed.
- Have the ability to work collaboratively.
- Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Must be open to feedback and be able to take direction while also driving his/her projects without a lot of oversight.
Nice to Have:
- Experience working as a designer within an agency is a plus.
- Experience working with sophisticated brands is a plus.
- Experience in higher education is also valuable but not required.
- Solid interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work on cross-functional teams.
- Strong written communication skills.
- Calm, flexible and able to work under pressure or with short deadlines.
