Job Description:

Position – General Manager

Reports to – CEO

The General Manager is responsible for managing all day-to-day dispensary operations in compliance with state laws, regulations and local ordinances. They will support all dispensary agents through continued training, clear communication, scheduling, performance reviews, and course correct to ensure optimum performance. Strong leadership skills will be used to foster a culture focused on teamwork, customer service, safety, and compliance. The General Manager will coordinate regularly with the Head of Grow, Head of Administration, and Head of Facility to make all necessary business decisions, developing and implementing strategies that support a results-driven culture and a superior and unique customer experience.

Responsibilities (will change as business dictates)

Dispensary Agent Support:

  • Participate in the recruitment, training, development and success of all dispensary staff
  • Create scheduling to comply with established labor control policies and store needs
  • Complete all written performance reviews and daily observations of retail staff
  • Record all sales and inventory transactions accurately in the state tracking and point of sale systems
  • Maintain established standards of transaction times, customer service and compliance
  • Ensure all employees have accurate, up-to-date knowledge and materials related to their position
  • Stay informed about state and local laws, regulations and industry news
  • Implement monthly meetings to discuss upcoming events, address concerns, and answer questions
  • Hold daily pre-shift meetings
  • Maintain open communication with dispensary, inventory, cultivation, and management staff
  • Respond to all employee questions, suggestions, and concerns and resolve any staff conflicts

Sales and Customer Service:

  • Handle all store ordering including accessories, office supplies, and third party vendors
  • Execute product placement strategy at all points of distribution to optimize sales
  • Execute dispensary selling strategies through incentives, displays, internal and external marketing
  • Recommend future promotions and ways to increase sales trends by understanding the success of previous incentives and promotions
  • Track all employee and store sales daily to ensure optimal performance
  • Own all customer feedback and provide customer/patient complaint resolution. If complaint needs to be moved to another department, follow up until resolved
  • Utilize customer and staff feedback to readily implement changes to improve customer service

Daily Store Function

  • Place weekly change orders based on store needs
  • Perform weekly audits on change fund and store petty cash
  • Handle all visits from state officials, providing all documents requested by the Department
  • Coordinate with inventory specialist to perform daily/weekly/monthly inventory reconciliations
  • Communicate the details of daily operations to all department heads and CEO
  • Implement and oversee security, reporting and cash management procedures related to opening and closing of the dispensaries
  • Count all employee cash and balance daily sales reports
  • Maintain all logs and necessary record keeping required by the Department

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Previous cannabis experience is preferred but not required
  • 5+ years in a high level management role
  • 3+ years in a retail/customer service environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends if necessary
  • Ability to pass a federal and state background check
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Experience with Windows based software and point of sale applications
