Our client, a leading cannabis industry products and services company who supplies adult-use and medical dispensaries and grow facilities, is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager of Industrial Gas and Distribution to join their leadership team, with direct responsibility for the overall financial performance of their division, leading to the strategic growth of the company.
The General Manager will report to the corporate COO in high energy environment, and will lead a division supplying industrial gases, solvents and other cannabis extraction and processing supplies to companies throughout the cannabis industry.
Job Description and Responsibilities
- This role requires an experienced General Manager who leads by example with an eagerness to learn and the desire to be proactive in developing a top performing team in a dynamic industry-leading environment, focused on customer satisfaction.
- They will develop the growth strategy to maintain a competitive advantage and stay ahead of the competition within the industrial gas and solvent segment of the cannabis industry, requiring knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Managing the movement of products through sales performance, productivity and activity reports is essential for this position, as is reviewing financial statements to stay within budgetary guidelines, and managing to the bottom line by implementing cost cutting programs and improving efficiency.
- Forecast customer demand, monitor suppliers, set ricing terms and conditions, warehouse, transportation, inventory, vendor relations, pricing optimization are all key components for the success of this position.
- Another important role is the building facilities location selection, maintenance recommendations, capital improvements, create standard operating procedures and maintaining exceptional customer service.
- Understanding the basic principles of hazardous material handling, and material safety data sheets, hydrocarbon chemistry, financial literacy, marketing, regulatory compliance, logistics, distribution and labor relations.
- Ability to travel up to 50% required
Education and Experience
- A bachelor's degree in business management, chemical engineering, logistics or related field is preferred
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field is desired
- Minimum of 6 years in management capacity with increasing authority is required
- Industrial gas or propane distribution and supply background is highly desirable with
- Experience in the cannabis extraction industry a plus
- Previous management experience leading a highly performing team in a similar role is required
- Previous proposal and bid experience is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate with both top management and the ability to effectively communicate with a team required
Location and Salary: $120-130K plus full benefits, based in Denver, CO
