Position Summary
Surterra Wellness, the industry leader in Medical Cannabis is looking to engage a freelance Graphic Designer. As our freelance Graphic Designer, you’ll serve as a key member of our small-but-agile marketing team by providing creative direction and production for numerous design projects. You'll be responsible for execution on a variety of print collateral, including but not limited to typography, layout, and production. Assist in digital media production as needed.
An ability to work efficiently with collaborators and execute projects based on a strategic direction is key. The designer will work both independently and collaboratively to solve creative challenges involving all aspects of marketing assets and other materials as needed. Ensure design concepts meet business goals while following Surterra Wellness brand standards.
Role & Responsibilities
- Report to internal design team and partner on all projects from concept to post-production.
- Translate business and marketing objectives into tools that are clear, compelling, visually exciting, easy
- to use, and emotionally engaging.
- Meet and partner with cross-divisional teams to gather all necessary information in order to accurately and efficiently execute project needs.
- Collaborate and partner with Sr. Designer, UX Designer, and other team members to develop design strategies and campaigns.
- Continually help and maintain high creative standards in an energetic fast past environment.
- Contribute and communicate ideas clearly and stay on schedule.
- Ability to think creatively and critically - understand how to balance business objectives with user needs. Think outside of the box, yet put yourself in customers’ shoes.
- Experience working and collaborating with other creatives. Ability to receive constructed feedback to achieve desired outcomes and a consistent visual language.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in an agency or in-house creative department.
- Medical Industry and or Retail design experience a plus.
- Must have an excellent eye for typography, layout, and branding.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite required.
- Understanding of the image retouching process a plus.
- Strong communication skills.
- High degree of integrity.
- Relevant experience in an agency or in-house marketing department.
- Retouching skills a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and experience talking through creative ideas in a collaborative environment.
- Always seeking knowledge in design, art, and technology, and stays up to date on current trends.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities (both short-term and long-term) and meet tight deadlines.
This will be an onsight/ offsite role when needed. Attend project kick off when necessary.
