JOB SUMMARY:
The Finisher is responsible for grinding, sanding, and polishing, fabricated objects operating with electric and pneumatic hand-held air tools. The Finisher is a full-time nonexempt position that reports to the Fabrication Supervisor. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in food grade stainless steel grinding, as well as high attention to detail and dedicated to always provide quality finishing work. We are looking for a team player ready to join the Delta Separation Finishing Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Grind, sand, clean, and polish objects or parts to correct defects or to prepare surfaces for further finishing, using hand tools and power tools.
  • Mark defects such as knotholes, cracks, and splits for repair.
  • Select files or other abrasives, according to materials, sizes and shapes of work pieces mount of stock to be removed finishes specified, and steps in finishing processes.
  • Measure and mark equipment, objects, or parts to ensure grinding and polishing standards are met.
  • Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates, measuring their dimensions, or testing them in working machinery.
  • Record product and processing data on specified forms.
  • Trim, scrape, or deburr objects or parts, using hand power tools and equipment.
  • Remove completed work pieces from equipment or work tables, using hand tools, and place work pieces in containers.
  • Load and adjust work pieces onto equipment or work tables, using hand tools.
  • Transfer equipment, objects, or parts to specified work areas, using moving devices.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Minimum of 2 years of fabrication experience.
  • Must provide protective steel toe boots.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Experience using power tools with precision.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to take direction and be flexible in thoughts and behaviors.
  • Ability to work at a fast pace while maintaining quality standards.
  • Skill in maintaining a positive attitude and treating all employees with respect.
  • Demonstrated solid work ethic and ability to work with integrity.
  • Tig Welding.

PHYSICAL TASKS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Finishers must be able to spend extensive duration of time standing or sitting during the scheduled shift. Finishers must be ready and able to bend at the knees and waist, move fingers and hands. Finishers must wear all necessary PPE always. Finishers must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and be willing to work approved overtime as needed. Must be able to lift at least 90 pounds.
