Job Description:

An award-winning regional public accounting firm is seeking a Financial Analyst to join their fast-growing Capital Markets Advisory team in Los Angeles.

They assist cannabis clients with a variety of investment banking services, including buy-side and sell-side M&A advisory, capital raising, valuations, forecasting, and financial analyses.

This is a great opportunity for an entrepreneur to help build out this new team. This role would provide exposure to a wide variety of business models and sub-sectors within the cannabis industry, including public and private companies of all sizes.

Essential Functions For This Role:

  • Builds detailed financial and operational models under various operating scenarios and capital structures
  • Prepares company valuations using numerous methodologies including discounted cash flow analysis, comparable public company analysis, precedent transactions analysis, and leveraged buyout analysis
  • Develops presentation materials including investor pitch decks, client presentation documents and marketing materials
  • Performs in-depth financial analyses and due diligence on clients and transactions
  • Conducts industry research, including analyzing companies, transactions, and valuation metrics across different industry sub-sectors
  • Communicates with clients throughout all stages of transaction and advisory process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or other equivalent field
  • 1+ years of full-time relevant business experience
  • Interest or experience with Investment Banking is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including detailed understanding of financial statements
  • Researching skills, to effectively research and gather information from both internal and external resources, including independently guided research into opportunities
