Job Description:

Large cannabis farm in Central Oregon is looking for an experienced individual to manage our farm laborers, working full-time at our large-scale cannabis facility. Our organization is growing and expanding, and we are looking for a motivated and skilled individual to join our team who possess a strong work ethic and a desire to be a part of a rapidly growing industry.

This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of cultivation and will manage the labor/agricultural staff according to management directions and SOPs. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of supervisory experience in commercial cannabis farm labor.

Candidates MUST HAVE an OLCC cannabis workers permit. (New permits take about 2 weeks to acquire.) This is an absolute requirement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for providing direction to farm labor employees optimizing performance levels and engagement throughout each task and throughout the day.
  • Create and manage an efficient work plan for each day, delegating tasks to at least five farm laborers and overseeing the efficiency and quality of work produced.
  • Responsible for training farm labor employees on tasks that need completed and ensure they are able to follow SOPs.
  • Responsible for optimizing greenhouse climate via the iGrow control system and other systems available for use at Ruby Farms.
  • Responsible for overseeing drying operations of plants, maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Responsible for managing harvest operations, maintaining efficiency and quality.
  • Conduct regular audits on plant health to identify pests and disease.
  • Provide, foster, and maintain a positive and productive working environment that promotes long-term morale and engagement.
  • Responsible for the general care of plants, including: watering, feeding, sterilizing and mixing soil, and transplanting plants.
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and care of plants, including: pruning, cloning, and harvesting plants.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures and follow the direction of management.
  • Complete all duties indicated via the checklist.
  • Report farm operations issues to management.
  • Responsible for operating greenhouse climate controls and pulling light dep tarps.
  • Responsible for spraying organic pesticides and informing management of pest and disease pressure, as well as any concerns with plant health.
  • Responsible for bucking, trimming, and packaging plants.
  • Responsible for participating in a number of agriculture operational duties, including: construction, inventory, cleaning and organizing, and maintaining cultivation systems and equipment.
