Position Summary:
Assist the extraction team with the activities and operations required to complete the functions of the department.
Study and comprehend all policies, procedures and operational guidelines set by the management team. This position is responsible for assisting with infused product production, which includes but is not limited to inventory management, following and adhering to the production schedule, production of cannabis products, tracking and compliance requirements, and lab safety.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for meeting production demands and ensuring quality for The Clinic’s retail locations and wholesale division in accordance with The Clinic Medical Marijuana Center’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives.
- Responsible for completing any work assigned to them during their scheduled shift, including but not limited to:
- Extractions of cannabis material using potentially hazardous solvents and understanding the inherent risks of that process.
- Post-extraction processing of extracted product
- Proper documentation and tracking of all necessary information throughout the extraction process.
- Maintain, clean and service laboratory equipment as required by procedures and manufactures specifications
- Maintain open communication with the management team and other co-workers
- Report employee issues or product situations
- Provide any necessary support to the management team to ensure MIP operations, as assigned, trained and/or requested.
- Responsible for post extraction processing for all products
- Accurately enter data into inventory management system and other computerized databases.
- Assist with the manufacture of infused products.
- Clean and maintain laboratory.
- Assist with any other lab duties as required by Extraction Manager/R&D Manager.
- Responsible for following all operational guidelines, verbal directives, training information and policies when performing duties.
- Documentation and continued development of changing internal processes for MIP department
- Ensures all standards for processing procedures and laboratory protocols are followed
- Compliance with Health Department Regulations.
- Assuring compliance with local, state, and federal billing or licensing requirements
- Quality control methods are adhered to throughout entire process
- Laboratory standards are documented and followed
- Experiments/manufacturing methods are documented for future reference
- Inventory oversight and management including Marijuana Inventory Tracking System (MITS) a program provided by the State of Colorado MED.
- Use of laboratory experience and knowledge to determine all necessary equipment required for manufacturing
- Follow “Good Manufacturing Processes” as they are created.
- Continually reviews current systems for operational efficiency and updates processes as necessary.
- Assists with inventory tracking systems both internally and through the State of Colorado’s MITS software.
- Follows all safety programs and protocols and provides updates as necessary
Job Specifications:
- Knowledge and adherence to the policies, procedures and goals of The Clinic Marijuana Centers.
- Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences.
- Knowledge and ability to use standard lab equipment; vacuum oven and pumps, hotplate stirrer, extraction equipment, etc.
- Ability to work effectively with co-workers, management, customers, other governmental agencies, community members and the general public.
- Understanding of internal departments, divisions and their roles as it pertains to the extraction process.
- Understanding of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as they pertain to the industry, personnel law, safety regulations, local municipal codes and organizational rules, regulations, directives and standard operating procedures.
- Must understand and comply with typical laboratory standards
- Must be familiar with OSHA guidelines for dealing with hazardous chemicals.
- Skill in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of company philosophies and goals.
- Ability to research, evaluate and adapt to new methods, compliance updates and techniques for operational improvement.
- Ability to interpret, understand, and comply with complex statutes, ordinances, regulations, standards, and laws.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
Additional Requirements:
- Colorado driver’s license or State ID card
- Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Must be and remain compliant with any and all legal or company regulations for working in the industry
- Must be approved by the MED to receive a key badge
Minimum Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent, some College preferred.
- Minimum 2 Years Experience Extracting Cannabis in a Lab setting
- Have strong knowledge of laboratory setting requirements.
- Must consent to and successfully pass background check.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered, including internal experience.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
- The work for this position gets done in a laboratory setting
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance), may include sitting or standing for extended periods of time, as well as stooping, bending over and/or crouching.
- This position will be exposed to a variety of temperatures and standing for long periods of time

Salary: $17.00 to $20.00 /hour
