Extraction Technician

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is located in Evergreen, CO

Assist in day to day operations in the extraction laboratory, primarily operating an extraction machine. Other responsibilities include record keeping, accurate data logging, routine lab maintenance, and equipment maintenance. Execution of mathematic calculations is necessary for many parts of this role. All members of the laboratory are also expected to take part in contribution to the overall workflow, organization, and functionality of the lab with proper use of time management and an ability to multitask.This position performs in restricted areas and requires employees to wear a current MED issued badge at all times.

POSSIBLE JOB DUTIES

• Spends majority of the time extracting and working with extraction machine.
• Help with harvesting, trimming, and organizing plant material.
• Ability to calculate percentages, yields and other math problems.
• Receive and verify incoming material to be extracted.
• Decarboxylation of food grade oil.
• Operation of vacuum pumps and vacuum ovens.
• Routine equipment maintenance for items such as vacuum pumps, refrigerators and freezers, convection oven, extraction machine etc.
• Open communication with kitchen to strategize optimal ways to meet the needs of the company.
• Open communication with compliance to maintain operation under a legitimate legal status.
• Sweep, mops, general cleaning.
• Performs heavy cleaning on equipment
• Performs other duties as required.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a Marijuana Enforcement Division badge
• Is able to lift upto 75 pounds.
• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Cannabis knowledge and or industry experience is helpful but not necessary.
• Dependable mode of transportation.
• Self-motivated individuals with the ability to learn and take responsibility for their work environment.
• Comfortable working with compressed gases.
• General scientific mindset and problem solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities usually required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. You must make your supervisor aware of any allergies. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and is occasionally loud. While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to weather conditions prevailing at the time.

WORKING SITUATIONS

Requires some variable hours and on call response after regular business hours to meet the needs of the business. Requires some weekend, holiday and evening work for events or the ability to arrange coverage. These times include but are not limited to; Holidays, fundraisers, events, etc. Local travel for business purposes and occasional overnight travel for events, training, etc may also be required.
