Job Description
- Manages and directs all Illinois extraction, QA, and formulation; leads a team of four direct reports to consistently produce high-quality concentrates
- Ensures the safe, accurate, and timely production of products; Ensures cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the production area
- Provides consistent oversight of extraction procedures, ensuring standardized requirements and accuracy
- Masters various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion
- Expertise in Butane and Ethanol extraction methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
- Knowledge of distillation techniques
- Maintains quality control measures to ensure a high-quality product
- Ensures compliance with State regulations and testing requirements; develops SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes
- Prepares inventory reports to ensure products are available, on point and in demand
- Maintains inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, including material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products
- Stays current with practices and new developments in the cannabis extraction industry
- Ensures accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately
- Manages Illinois super patient program to optimize new product feedback
- Designs product mix in conjunction with other business functions as it relates to extractable material
Qualifications

- Experience with various methods of extraction, including Butane and Ethanol
- Experience with cannabis concentrates including live resin, wax and shatter
Required Experience:
- College degree in Chemistry, or equivalent experience required
- At least 2 years working with Butane and Ethanol Cannabis extraction in a production environment
- Minimum 3 years management experience, preferably in a multi-site capacity
- Experience training and mentoring laboratory technicians and scientists with techniques for analysis and good laboratory practices
- Successful candidates will be results oriented, driven, detail‐oriented, enthusiastic, organized and possess excellent communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Ability to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods; requires consistent eye/hand coordination in a precise lab setting; ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted
