Job Description:

At Golden Leaf Holdings, our production and laboratory team takes pride in creating the highest quality product for our consumers.

As our laboratory technician in our Sparks, Nevada facility, you’ll be responsible for producing our refined oils while also maintaining quality control and tracking of the product. In partnership with the production team in Oregon, you will innovate how we operate by experimenting, developing and implementing and improving our capabilities in Nevada. To that end, you will:

  • Apply filtration and distillation theory concepts to convert crude extracts into refined and processed oil to meet sales demand
  • Maintain the highest standards for quality while also keeping track of the product as it moves from raw materials to finished goods
  • Develop and follow SOP for production to drive process efficiency and reliability.
  • Apply concepts from analytical chemistry to the production process.
  • Maintain all distillation equipment.

In this role you’ll operate independently to refine oils to meet consumer demands. You’ll need to bring a strong understanding of distillation and filtration theory and a natural curiosity to explore and solve problems that haven’t been addressed before. To be effective, you’ll possess a high degree of comfort with ambiguity and an ability to simplify the complex and communicate effectively. Most importantly, you should be very excited about the opportunity to make a significant impact.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biotechnology, chemical engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of filtration, distillation, analytical chemistry and basic laboratory techniques.
  • Familiarity and experience with operating HPLC’s (preferred)

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Performing distillations to meet sales teams’ needs.
  • Preparing and running analytical samples.
  • Coordinating and reporting compliance testing requirements.
  • Maintenance of all distillation and analytical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain batch logs and compliance tracking of product.
  • Develop and follow SOP’s in relation to distillation and testing.
  • Ability to train small groups.
  • Willingness to travel for short periods of time.
  • Willingness to work long hours as some distillations can take 10-12 hours.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
