Job Description:

This is a full-time, salaried position that is eligible for paid time off (PTO).

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

-Safely operate, clean and maintain production equipment including supercritical fluid and solvent

extraction systems, distillation systems, pumps, filters, and evaporators according to strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).

-Manage extraction and processing technician team and all associated production tasks.

-Independently perform complex research and development experiments for the creation of novel

products and delivery systems.

-Plan for and adhere to the daily production schedule to ensure attainment of efficiency goals.

-Verify that all applicable working areas, tools, processing equipment, packaging and labeling

components are maintained in good working order prior to the start of each shift.

-Develop procedures for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, glassware, transfer materials, storage

vessels, tools, and working surfaces.

-Ensure that all extraction and processing activities are performed with attention to strict Ilera quality and safety standards, regulatory compliance, and all other applicable legal and food safety requirements.

-Produce reliable, precise data for the completion of all required batch, equipment, quality, inventory and state mandated seed-to-sale documentation.

-Contribute to creation and continuous improvement of Ilera process SOPs, work instructions, batch records, and controlled document revisions.

-Assist in research objectives to drive product development and formulation.

-Support Quality Control and Quality Assurance by developing extraction sampling protocols.

-Calibrate common laboratory instruments and equipment as required.

-Adhere to safe chemical handling and disposal procedures as defined by SOPs and material safety data sheets (MSDS).

-Ensure the safety of themselves and others by maintaining a safe and orderly lab environment. Report any unsafe or hazardous work conditions to the Director of Extraction and Processing.

-Report to and actively support Director of Extraction and Processing on a daily basis to ensure

attainment of goals and deadlines.

-Drive productivity and cost effective production processes and develop innovative plans to achieve optimization.

-Work nights and weekends as needed to complete critical tasks.

-Perform other duties in production, packaging, labeling, and R&D as required.

-Uphold Ilera quality and teamwork objectives in all job aspects.

-Ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

-Capable of sitting, standing, kneeling, bending, squatting and/or walking for extended periods

-Ability to read, interpret, and apply information obtained from drawings, schematics, manuals, data sheets, or other documents.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related fields is strongly preferred.

Experience in pharmaceutical formulation development is strongly preferred.

Experience working in a GMP manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred.

Experience in the medical marijuana/cannabis industry is preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Applicant must be at least 21 years of age.
