Overview:

The Engineering Field Technician will be responsible for field notes and measurements of telecommunications outside plant in the Raleigh, NC area. The notes/measurements taken will be used by our Engineers to design the placement of new telecom equipment along copper and fiber cable where specified by the customer and used for the submittal of permits to the appropriate governing entity.

LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED

Responsibilities:

  • Take notes and measurements of the proposed Telecom equipment site using measuring height sticks, measuring wheels and range finders
  • Prepare field maps with the notes and measurements
  • High quality field drawings are required

Qualifications:

Training will be provided. We do not require experience in this field to qualify for the position. Relevant experience will certainly be considered, however this role is a common entry level position to those who want to start a career in Telecommunications Engineering or Construction fields.

To be considered for this position candidates MUST have the following qualifications:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean driving record
  • Good math skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Legible handwriting
  • Ability to walk at least 2 miles per day carrying equipment in all types of weather
  • Proficient with computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office – Word and Excel, Google Sheets, email, etc.)
