Brite Labs works with the whole cannabis plant to capture its rich therapeutic benefits and the best tasting oil – natural and pure, never cut or diluted. Made with sun-grown, pesticide-free cannabis sourced from small-farm cultivators across Northern California, our product is created in our California licensed, Oakland based, manufacturing facility. Through our unique extraction process we capture a complex array of cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids safely and cleanly for the consumer and the environment. As a well established and growing company, we are looking for a self-starter who has experience opening and servicing retail accounts.

The Distribution/Logistics Manager will coordinate movement of all regulated product, verify shipments and deliveries within a determined time schedule, identify and remedy any logistical errors or challenges, as well as manage the fulfillment/ inventory team and all distribution and transportation personnel. Brite Labs is growing and this position is crucial to ensure that we have in place internal processes to support the increasing number of transactions that need to happen efficiently and accurately daily, so that our sales orders can be filled and our customers stay happy.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning/Strategic:

  • Create and improve processes for the accurate and efficient distribution of Brite products to retail stores, partners or other Brite locations.
  • Lead inventory planning efforts on behalf of the company by maintaining metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvements.
  • Adhere to Brite’s values and maintain the highest product quality standards and professionalism in all business interactions.

Supervise Inventory/Fulfillment Team

  • Oversee the inventory and fulfillment function including supervising inventory and fulfillment technicians.
  • Demonstrate on-site leadership by modeling leadership qualities and proactively addressing concerns, conflicts, and communication hurdles with team members.
  • Drive productivity by setting daily, weekly and longer term goals for team; and communicate and support high expectations for teamwork, mutual respect, open communication within the team and across functions.
  • Manage purchasing for fulfillment including packing, shipping, labels, equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure finished products are accurately packaged and labeled and inventory transfers are accurate.
  • Develop processes to ensure stock levels are optimum and staff has access to accurate information.
  • Maintain quality standards for storing finished inventory.

Sourcing and Distribution

  • Source botanical input to meet production requirements for current and future products; including maintaining positive relationships with cultivators.
  • Negotiate positive pricing and schedules that meet Brite’s forecasted production and budget goals.
  • Oversee delivery drivers and scheduling to ensure products get to their destinations safely and quickly; and that delivery vehicles are maintained and safe.
  • Analyze delivery methods to include appropriate containers, appropriately outfitted vehicles to include temp control, safety, and quality control.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with distribution partners.
  • Assist with wholesale fulfillment processes and 3rd party pickups.

Sales Coordination

  • Act as main interface between the sales team and production team creating efficient processes to support sales and increasing number of transactions.
  • Ensure inventory menu is kept up to date so sales team has accurate information when interfacing with customers.
  • Coordinate the sales order process for accuracy and efficiency.

Technology and Compliance

  • Recommend and utilize technology to optimize supply chain operations and provide reporting for planning, decision making, and compliance.
  • Ensure all SKU’s are accurately tracked and inventory variances are identified and addressed. Analyze and monitor the financial and operational impact of inventory adjustments.
  • Create queries and reports for current and projected inventory, and all order-related transaction history.
  • Work with the Business Operations Manager, Quality Manager and COO to ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met, including implement new or improved policies and procedures as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6-8 years’ experience in logistics, production, sourcing, or supply chain in a high volume manufacturing or retail environment.
  • BS/BA in Logistics, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ supervising non-exempt production employees
  • Experience in the cannabis industry highly preferred
  • Excellent computer and mathematics skills, as well as data analysis; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Experience with Trellis highly desirable; experience with inventory management systems, track and trace requirements, POS, preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task with excellent organization skills.
  • Experienced relationship with internal team and external partners.
  • Proven ability to recommend pricing strategies and how to structure agreements to favorably impact the company.
  • Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements.
  • Comfortable learning new technologies.
  • Aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting and ability to recommend to management well thought out recommendations.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strongly committed to providing high quality products to clients including the packing and presentation of the products.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time.
  • Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be 21 years’ or older.

Reporting:

This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer

Classification and Bonus Plan:

This is a full-time exempt position. As a full-time employee, this position is eligible to participate in the Employee Bonus Plan.
