Scope:

The Store Manager will manage the day-to-day operation and set the strategic direction of their store location to achieve all objectives and projects assigned by the company. They will be responsible for building, developing and maintaining a highly motivated team to deliver the best customer service and products to our valuable customers and patients, in every interaction. This position directs and controls all in-store activities to achieve sales and profitability targets, and to ensure long-term business growth in accordance with company philosophy and established policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be people and service focused, problem solving, organized, and detail oriented individual, with the necessary leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to represent Essence Cannabis Dispensary and its core values


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze the business, propose and implement action plans to improve results and generate sales for each product category.
  • Create and maintain positive employee relations through building, leading and developing a quality team.
  • Ensure on-going specific and immediate coaching and feedback, ongoing employee performance management and delivery of all performance documentation in a timely manner. Enforce company policies while adhering to proper procedure regarding disciplinary action. Prepares and Delivers employee performance evaluations.
  • Communicates with Director of Retail Operations and executive leadership on product mix, market trends, and product needs
  • Manages team to ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures to make sound business decisions and communicate/educate all staff members
  • Responsible for ensuring all documents are filed properly, all data is input correctly, all menus are up to date, and all products displayed properly.
  • Responsible for operating a dispensary that follows all local and state laws. Be present at all city and state inspections.
  • Stays abreast of ongoing company promotions and offers ideas on how those promotions can be enhanced.
  • Maintains 100% accurate records to ensure that the dispensary passes all compliance audits.
  • Reports directly to the Director of Retail Operations.
  • Demonstrate sales leadership for staff by playing an active role on the selling floor, observing customer inactions and providing immediate feedback, and leading by example.
  • Complete all necessary administrative paperwork in a timely manner including creating staff work schedules and ensure appropriate store coverage
  • Control daily invoices, petty cash, and take necessary actions to effectively control costs and ensure efficient operation in store.
  • Ensure maintenance of product par levels, cycle counts, inventory accuracy, audits, and destroying inventory.
  • Communicates with the Director of Retail Operations and Human Resources on coaching, performance issues, and conflict resolution.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • A minimum of four to six (4 - 6) years of progressive store management experience in a fast-paced retail environment is required. Previous experience working for a cannabis dispensary or other highly-regulated industries is ideal.
  • Adaptability in an ever changing, high stress and fast paced environment is required.
  • A thorough understanding of the cannabis plant including the composition of the plant, different effects, strains and definitions is required.
  • Must be able to effectively (verbal and written) communicate with direct reports, peers and executive leadership. Superior ability to engage in effective and appropriate constructive conflict.
  • Internal candidates must have been in their current position for at least three months and have no disciplinary actions during the last six months.
  • Talent for driving sales with a "Patient is King" focus.
  • Effective time-management, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task is required.
  • Must have the availability and the ability to work a flexible schedule to meets the demands of a retail business and retail consumer which may include regular nights, weekends, long and short shifts
  • Must have a thorough understanding of state and local medical marijuana and recreational laws.
  • Must maintain all required work cards and other requirements set by the city, state, or county.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Retail Operations knowledge including: sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory control, store budget preparation and loss prevention.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and create a team-oriented environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Staff Development Experience: Knowledge in staffing, coaching, counseling, training, development, employee corrective action and performance management.
  • Strong Computer skills: POS Systems and Microsoft Office, Math Skills and Phone Skills
