Primary responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:
- Execute day-to-day operations in the dispensary as they pertain to workflow, production quotas and deadlines.
- Ensure that the dispensary is in compliance with all local, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Supervise the dispensary production staff to ensure proper data entry, work flow, security of the dispensary area, and adherence to delivery schedules.
- Analyze and interpret all new medical cannabis orders from the Compassionate Use Registry.
- Obtain clarification of orders when needed.
- Verify patient’s weight (kg) and contact ordering physician if the maximum recommended dose has been exceeded.
- Perform Medication Reconciliation with patient’s ordering physician and with the patient to screen for potential drug interactions.
- Communicate any potential drug interactions to the ordering physician.
- Review all new medical cannabis orders for content and accuracy of all drug packaging and labeling.
- Dispenses medical cannabis to qualified patients.
- Provide Patient Consultation which will include communication of any potential Adverse Effects and Warnings and instruction on Medication Administration.
- Adheres to HIPAA and FIPA Compliance standards
- Provides drug information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals
- Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the State Board of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration
- Protects patients and technicians by adhering to infection-control protocols and OSHA standards.
- Inventory Management: Maintains records for the dispensary and its patients via BioTrack
- Professional Development: Maintains medical cannabis pharmacology knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Oversees Pharmacy Technician:
- Preparing the order may require measuring, counting or weighing medications, or even mixing liquid medicines.
- This type of work must be approved by the dispensary pharmacist before it is given to the patient or customer, but it is the pharmacy tech's responsibility to carefully follow the directions on the prescription.
- Completes pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' work flow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
Job Requirement:
- Minimum of (3) years’ experience in the retail or medical industry
- Physician Communication Experience
- Strong decision-making, analytical and organizational skills

- Medical Cannabis Knowledge (preferred)
