Dispensary Manager

Job Description

A F Street Dispensary Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the retail store, managing core department positions, and ensures job duties are successfully fulfilled. In a fast, hard working start-up environment, Managers constantly prioritize where to spend their time. They assist team members to implement exceptional customer service strategies, troubleshoot situations as they arise, fulfill managerial duties not relating to sales, ensure adequate staffing levels at all times, maintains available inventory on the sales floor and more.

A Manager shares responsibility alongside other Managers for workplace safety, security, overall customer service, staff scheduling, inventory, cash drawer controls, and site cleanliness. Managers communicate and work closely with and report directly to the General Manager to fulfill all responsibilities and duties.

The Manager will strictly follow and implement F Street Dispensary’s policies and procedures which ensure all laws and regulations concerning cannabis dispensaries are met.

A Manager has experience leading others, delivering exceptional customer satisfaction, and being accountable for financial and operational performance. Cannabis knowledge is a must.

A Manager’s salary is based off of experience in a retail cannabis setting, cannabis knowledge, and managerial experience. A base salary will be paid with performance bonuses. All F Street Dispensary positions begin with a 90 day probationary period.

Education/Experience

A dispensary Manager must have retail and management experience to understand the day-to-day requirements of the position and for a retail environment. Experience in the medical cannabis industry is highly desirable, but not required. At least a baseline understanding of cannabis must be known including cannabis strain types and properties, cannabis product types, consumption effects, how cannabis interacts with the human body’s endocannabinoid system, and other cannabis topics.

Position Details

• Cultural ambassador of F Street Dispensary upholding the principles and values of the company at all times.
• Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates responsibilities to employees ensuring a smooth flow of operations.
• Receives product inventory from suppliers and inputs quantities into POS system.
• Takes inventory from storage onto the sales floor.
• Trains new employees on POS systems, cash handling procedures, inventory stocking and reconciliation, company policies and procedures, customer service techniques, and position job duties.
• Provides employees coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to grow in their roles.
• Drives the implementation of company programs by motivating and supporting employees to develop, and implement plans that meet financial and operational objectives.
• Solicits feedback to understand employee needs, customer needs, and the needs of the community.

Position Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must not have been convicted of any felony offense
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
• Demonstrated passion of serving others
• Proven ability to manage teams effectively
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Computer operating skills
• Medical marijuana product knowledge (Highly Desirable)
• Retail experience (3 years)
• Retail management experience (Preferred)
• Experience in a complex, fast-paced environment
• Organization and planning skills
• Strong operational skills in a customer-service environment
• Supervisory and team-building skills
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Ability to build relationships
