As the leader in a rapidly changing and fragmented marketplace, we are on a journey to bring cannabis to the masses. The Director, Shopper Marketing role represents a fantastic opportunity to become part of this historic movement. Located in downtown San Francisco, this position reports into the SVP, Marketing and is a member of the marketing leadership team.
We are looking for a high energy, entrepreneurial leader to lead our new Shopper Marketing department. The ideal incumbent is a strategic marketer who brings strong brand building skills with retail savviness. This leader will be accountable for driving profitable business growth in collaboration with the Director, Consumer & Shopper Insights, Sales, Operations and other partners. You are a capability builder and will bring best practices to the company, build necessary internal processes and mentor a team of 4-6 shopper marketers.
This opportunity is unique as the company is in high growth stage in a hyper growth industry. The retail landscape is evolving and as such, the right leader will need to operate comfortably with rapid change and ambiguity. They should be as comfortable leading a team as well as rolling up their sleeves to make things happen. Testing & learning will be key as we develop the “Eaze Way” to replicate success across California.
The successful Director, Shopper Marketing will:
- Build and lead shopper marketing function for the company. Develop the strategies, plans and tactics to drive traffic, conversion and build the basket for Eaze and our supplier Brands.
- Develop platforms and an evergreen calendar of Eaze proprietary programs. Build pitch decks, rate card and other sales tools to sell-in programs in collaboration with the sales team.
- Partner with Data Science and Insights to gain shopper understanding (trips, drivers, barriers, share of voice, etc.) and translate opportunities into action.
- Analyze ROI for campaigns to drive continuous improvement.
- Serve as the trusted advisor for the sales organization; bring thought leadership and creative problem solving to help grow the business.
- Lead, motivate and develop 4-6 shopper marketers located in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
- 7+years of CPG Marketing and Shopper Marketing experience, with at least 3 years of managerial experience.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful campaigns in a fast paced, lean environment. Equally successful at leading a team and rolling up sleeves to execute projects.
- Strategic and analytical-adept at problem solving and interpreting financials.
- Experience developing direct reports and helping them advance their careers within an organization.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills; comfortable and effective operating across all levels within an organization from C-Suite to associates.
- Comfortable working with ambiguity and minimal direction.
- Strong written and oral communication to engage and persuade others to action.
- eCommerce marketing experience.
- Shopper Marketing experience on the retail side.
