The Role The Director, Retail Operations (“DRO”) will work closely with the President, Retail Operations (“PRO”) to provide strategic oversight of GTI’s retail store operations in Florida. The DRO will implement policies and procedures that increase operational effectiveness and maximize long-term store performance and will be an expert in analyzing business performance metrics and translating it into actionable business results. The DRO will be one of the key drivers for cross-functional alignment of the retail function and will provide the Florida retail team with the leadership to enable development of their professional competencies. Responsibilities
  • Partner with the PRO and the GTI executive team to build and execute the retail strategy with specific focus on driving brand awareness of GTI’s portfolio brand.
  • Develop, implement, execute and maintain the retail strategy and growth objectives.
  • Achieve sales and profit objectives.
  • Monitor and report key metrics by location.
  • Forecast retail store activity and needs.
  • Oversee merchandising, inventory, real estate, construction, POS, lighting, etc. in all retail locations.
  • Consistently represent the field managers.
  • Lead retail professionals to be highly engaged, effective, and results oriented.
  • Provide leadership, supervision and direction to Retail Leaders by frequenting locations and routine coaching sessions.
  • Build and retain high performing retail staff.
  • Identify opportunities/risks in a timely manner and develop effective responses and action plans.
  • Drive innovative solutions to improve sales, conversions and customer experience; identify and recommend areas for improved retail training.
  • Build upon, and continue to deliver, a workplace culture of excellence, service, and passion about our mission and customers.
  • Act as a liaison between the field teams and the corporate functions for clear strategic direction.
  • Partner with the Operations teams on store design, openings, and remodels, identifying opportunities that will enhance customer experience and operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Operations Management to ensure quality and compliance to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Work closely with Data & Analytics on the sales trends and make recommendations to refine sales strategy to maximize profitability.
  • Set sales targets and implement action plans for achieving set goals in each market and overall.
  • Forecast sales figures and inventory requirements for each location.
  • Lead and motivate retail managers to deliver on plan, constantly reviewing capabilities and capacities to ensure objectives are met, individuals grow professionally, and a succession plan is in place.

Qualifications
  • BA/BS required
  • Minimum 10 years of multi-store retail management experience.
  • Must have maintained P&L responsibility for significant retail operations.
  • Expertise managing high-growth, multi-site retail locations.
  • Prior experience scaling a retail organization, including management of systems and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, financial aptitude, and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience utilizing data to effectively drive business decisions.
  • A proven track record of delivering on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Strong leadership skills, mentoring and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively inspire and motivate highly engaged teams.
  • Proven ability to stay informed on policies and procedures, product offers, and industry knowledge in a rapidly changing environment.
  • A leader by example on accountability, trustworthiness and fairness.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule depending on the needs of the business; will require work on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Travel up to 50%.
