The Role
The Director, Total Rewards is arguably the most important role in our organization. This role will be responsible for the development and management of all GTI’s benefits compensation, payroll and compliance.
Our ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Payroll, Benefits, Compensation and Systems with an incredible keen eye for detail and accuracy. You have the experience and the tenacity to quickly learn GTI’s organization and challenges of the cannabis industry, as well as, foresee any obstacles. You are ready to take on a challenge that entails operating at a strategic level, establishing guidelines and standard operating procedures, platform integrations, all the while, executing day-to-day tasks with a high level of accuracy.
Responsibilities - Payroll Administration

Coordinate workflow to ensure payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner

Administer four payroll runs (bi-weekly and semi-monthly) for over 380 employees which include hourly, non-exempt, salaried, exempt

Process all employee changes as it relates to compensation changes/adjustments, changes in employment status, deductions, garnishments, terminations, etc.

Resolve payroll discrepancies, process adjustments, manual checks and answer employee and management inquiries, as needed and in a timely manner

Audit time and attendance
- Process garnishments, child support orders, quarterly and annual tax verifications, worker compensation reports, as needed

Perform year-end responsibilities as it relates to W-2 verification, moving-expenses

Complete registration and set up of new State and SUI accounts accurately

Support payroll auditing and reporting activity including annual benefit and 401k census, form 5500, EEO-1 reporting

Manage requests for employment verification, as requested

Support the Accounting team with all reconciliations as it relates to PTO and benefit deductions and programs such as medical, dental, 401k, Health Savings Account, Flexible Spending Accounts, etc.
- Build scalable payroll processes, infrastructure and systems that allow for rapid, seamless integration of all entities
Responsibilities - HRIS Maintenance & Administration
- Identify the business needs and requirements, to evaluate solutions and vendors, to select, test, and deploy the system, and to train the users

Lead the design, development, testing, implementation, security, and maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and all other HR-related systems

Own the administration of the day-to-day operations of maintaining the accuracy and integrity of HR systems

Manage maintenance of HR-related information systems aligned to payroll, compensation, benefits, and talent management to ensure data integrity and to analyze data flows

Coordinate the set up and seamless maintenance of data feeds and vendor interfaces
-
Maintain systems data integrity and systems accuracy
-
Manage and assist with audits and evaluations, validation of data, and analysis of data transactions within HR-related systems to perform general maintenance, to ensure efficient operations, and to enable systems controls and processes

Collaborate with the Financial Analyst team to ensure that any and all systems can generate weekly, monthly, and annual reports needed for the analyst team for corporate development
Responsibilities - Benefits Design & Administration

Manages employee benefit plans, ensuring compliance and competitiveness
-
Build scalable benefits enrollment and administration processes, infrastructure and systems that allow for rapid, seamless integration of all entities
- Manage eligibility data, enrollment, deductions and process contributions for company health benefits, 401k, Flex and any other related plans including COBRA payments

Audit benefit records to ensure accuracy and consistency of data across various benefit systems both internally and externally with vendors

Maintain relationships with benefit brokers and third party administrators for medical, dental, flexible spending plans, 401k.

Perform monthly review of Benefit Plan billing statements to ensure all additions, changes, and terminations are updated with our Benefit vendors on a regular basis

Assist employees with benefit related questions or issues

Complete Annual Open Enrollment setup for online benefit enrollment

Plan and administer Annual Open Enrollment including communication, enrollment tracking, forms, changes, and updating vendor websites with new information

Distribute compliance information/mailings to employees as needed

Evaluate and make strategic recommendations for ongoing enhancements or changes to our comprehensive benefit offerings
Responsibilities - Compensation

Responsible for stock option administration and coordination with our Legal team on administration of equity plans

Develops, directs and maintains our compensation philosophy, strategy, and incentive and bonus compensation programs

Researches and maintains competitive salary ranges for all positions

Maintains responsibility for compensation surveys

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s Degree
-
8-10 years of payroll, benefits, compensation and HR generalist experience; at least 5+ years of payroll experience, multiple EINs, a huge plus

Proven experience with systems integration and migration

Must have experience processing non-exempt, hourly employees and proven success in a fast-paced, high-growth organization
- Experience with designing and administering compensation, incentive and benefit plans

Advanced computer skills to include data entry in Excel

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong organizational and time-management skills
