An established packaging leader in cannabis industry, we are seeking a Director of Product Management to manage our product strategy, marketing and development. You will be responsible for pricing, development, and overall promotion of products that support businesses in the cannabis space.
Reporting to VP of Marketing, this role will work to build an innovative product management and marketing team to understand the overall needs of our clients and overall business from a strategic, technical and experience perspective, and then translate and execute these insights. The Director of Product is responsible for driving top-line growth with product, covering new product marketing and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determines customers’ needs and desires by conducting research required to obtain market information. Analyze data/insights to determine industry and consumer trends.
- Assess market competition by comparing the company’s product to competitors’ products
- Lead and innovate product experiences, having a lean start-up mindset and think creatively under various constraints.
- Successfully guide products throughout the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch to evaluation. Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Define product and market requirements/specifications for all new product features and additions to existing features.
- Devise short-term and long-term development strategies for product categories.
- Manage resourcing for product roadmap that aligns with business needs and product owner growth goals
- Make forecasts of product demand to ensure sustainability of inventory. Manage budget development and revenue for product assortment.
- Commit to excellence - and push the team toward high velocity and exceptional product development
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in a Product Management leadership role or previous equivalent experience involved in successfully launching, managing, and developing a product assortment in an emerging industry (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of people management experience
- Passionate about product development/marketing/user experience
- Entrepreneurial drive and spirit; enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and open-minded; proactively seeks input from others
- Handles constructive criticism with ease; adapts easily and efficiently to change
- Proven ability to build strong, effective relationships across a broad set of stakeholders
- Proven ability to Iterate in steps. Think in leaps.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- College Degree Required / Masters Preferred
- Proficient in Excel
Nice to Have:
- Industrial design experience or previous packaging experience
- Experienced with Agile/SCRUM
