DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
Harvest’s Director of Manufacturing is a national operations leader who implements and executes on organizational and management protocols to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing facility operations in all of Harvest’s national facilities. This role will include the development and implementation of methods that focus on the needs of the company as it undergoes rapid growth in product sales, manufacturing processes, and methodology related to ongoing and intense broadening of product lines, market diversity, and increased revenue generation. Under leadership of the VP of Manufacturing, Harvest’s Director of Operations is responsible for the effective planning, directing and coordination of key functions for Production/Processing Facilities, Distribution Centers, and Supply Chain.

  • Plan, direct, and coordinates the work activities and resources necessary to ensure process optimization and efficiency of our manufacturing and production facility in accordance with company goals, P&L, cost, quality, and quantity specifications.
  • Oversee, mentor and develop direct-report managers in all facilities across the nation; assess and create plans to grow the skills and competencies of production teams to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Travel 50% or more of the year around the US to manufacturing facilities in multiple states.
  • Collaborate with management and department leaders relative to projects including workforce planning, budgeting, new product launches, equipment installs or upgrades, and lean production methods.
  • Effectively communicate to corporate management all operational issues or areas for improvement; establish and execute on plans to optimize processes; participate in management meetings and work closely with leaders across our various business units.
  • Set operational production requirements and processes to meet established company goals; effectively time manage and delegate operational duties to staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a clean and safe working environment for all employees.
  • Provide leadership for our cultivation operation, while promoting a team-oriented environment that upholds our company culture.
  • Collaborate with HR regarding team development, training, and overall performance management of the cultivation facility.
  • Develop and lead weekly operation meetings and monthly team meetings.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as required.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
  • Work collectively and respectfully with other team members.
  • Additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS *

  • 10+ years of experience in operations related to production and manufacturing in large-scale facilities. In addition, change management and lean facilitation is highly desirable.
  • Travel required up to 50% minimum to facilities across the U.S.
  • Successful oversight of large facilities and direct reports in multiple production, manufacturing, distribution locations.
  • Established history of operational and production management success in an industrial or agricultural environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization.
  • Detail oriented with an eye on process optimization.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial planning.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage high stress situations and to be flexible and adaptable when a situation requires it.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 50 pounds if required for job roles above.
  • Through extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the work day
  • Excellent communication skills and leadership both verbally and through written media
  • Must be able to handle constructive criticism and guidance and offer the same to those who are managed in the department.
  • Ability to articulate job goals in a manner they’re completed effectively the first time.
  • At least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the US.
  • Proper employment documentation.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • If necessary, ability to work 7 days per week and to be flexible with schedule.
  • Environmental Requirements and Exposure:
  • Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables
EDUCATION *

  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience and certifications to excel as an Operations Director.
  • Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent is required.
