The Role:
Reporting to the CEO and having significant interaction with senior management this brand new position will oversee all finance functions including accounting, cash management, policy development, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, FP&A, budget management, audits, forecasts preparation and financial reporting. Ultimately, you will play a vital role in our company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting
Duties and Responbilities
- Establish and implement finance and accounting polices
- Forecast revenue and analyze profit margins
- Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage accounts payable/receivable
- Participate in budgeting processes
- Brief senior managers regularly on the company’s financial status
- Liaise with Tax Accountants to track tax payments and returns
- Monitor bookkeeping activities regularly
- Keep company financial information confidential
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Complete all cash management set-up documentation for new and existing department processes; prepares correspondence and proposals directed to and for cash management.
- Provide advice and guidance on how to increase revenue and reduce costs
- Responsible for continuous improvements with Inventory Management through recommending and implementing efficient and effective Inventory accounting financial processes.
- Timely reconcillation of cash application and disbursements.
- Monitor cash transactions to ensure that account balances to the report and any unusual items are investigated.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Requirements:
- Proven experience as Director of Finance or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
- Solid knowledge of financial analysis and forecasting
- Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
- BSc/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field; MSc/MA is a plus
- CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus
- In-depth understanding of cash flow management and inventory accounting
- Hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management
