Today, Vangst has 41 full-time employees and over 150 gig employees between Colorado and California. We’re currently expanding to additional legalized markets as well as launching a new product this fall to more effectively connect employees with cannabis jobs. We’re recruiting a director of finance to support our rapid growth. The ideal candidate will have joined a company and helped the company scale from seed stage to at least $40M in annual revenue.

What you will do:

  • Review current financial policies and procedures and work to improve policies and procedures based on projected growth.
  • Review and improve current financial model for forecasting and budgeting.
  • Prepare and manage annual budget.
  • Handle all accounting and ensure financial information and reporting are accurate and timely:
  • Prepare month end financials.
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports and analysis.
  • Prepare year-end financials.
  • Prepare special department reports and analysis quarterly.
  • Manage cash flow, including all AR and AP functions with a focus on timely collections and payments.
  • Develop key metrics and recommendations for operational improvements.
  • Work with each department head to re-establish commission and bonus structures.
  • Work with each department to create reports analyzing productivity of each department each quarter.
  • Handle all tax related matters including filing.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Manages and trains staff accountant and all future finance hires.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA and/or CMA preferred.
  • 7-10 Years of experience in a high growth company.
  • Recent experience scaling a finance operation from seed stage to at least $40 million in annual revenues.
  • Demonstrated experience building or upgrading organizational financial systems in a high growth company.
  • Demonstrated experience producing, analyzing and presenting all standard business financial reports.
  • Experience with complex organizational finances resulting from multiple revenue streams and multiple locations.
  • Experience preparing financials prior to a capital raise.
  • 2 professional references from your direct boss at your last two jobs.
  • Pass a background check.
