Position Summary
Curaleaf, NJ is a rapidly growing medical cannabis company dedicated to the needs of its patients. The Director of Finance will d irect the organization's financial planning, accounting practices as well as manage relationships with financial institutions, third party vendors and shareholders. Reporting to the President of Curaleaf NJ, the Director of Finance will supervise a Staff Accountant and will work closely with PalliaTech’s EVP of Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Prepare financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Prepare and maintain monthly balance sheet, income statements and cashflow roll-forwards on a timely basis
Review, prepare and execute all capital expenditure budgets, contracts and and ensure timely financing and completion.
Create and record monthly journal entries (revenue, depreciation expense, prepaid amortization, etc.)
Create and report departmental performance and consolidated budgets on a quarterly basis each fiscal year showing actual, budgets and forecasts
Collaborate with departmental managers to ensure all financial resources are budgeted and provided and any overages, if any, are closely monitored
Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly budget to actual variance analysis
Maintain the financial reporting software – create and maintain Chart of accounts and vendors
Report weekly cash burn forecast to the executive team to manage cash needs
Manage cost accounting function to effectively track and report on cultivation, processing and dispensary cost metrics.
Manage the accounts payable function and ensure timeliness of vendor payments
Perform 280E analysis for proper tax classification of financial statement items
Report monthly financial statements, management reports and respective metrics to President and corporate executive team.
Coordinate with the external auditors to execute the interim and year-end financial statement audit in a timely manner
Assist the corporate executive team with the year-end tax return
Evaluate all executed contracts for accounting treatment, if applicable
Maintain all executed contracts on file for record keeping purposes
Ensure all insurance policies are renewed timely to avoid gaps in coverage and coordinate with insurance brokers in the event of a loss
Ensure all local, municipal and state regulatory and DOH licenses are renewed on a timely basis
Office Skills
Strong verbal communications a must.
Ability to comfortably communicate in a Microsoft Office environment (Outlook, WORD, Power Point and EXCEL)
Detail oriented and organized a must.
Valid Driver’s License

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
CPA preferred
Experience in implementing ERP and accounting systems
Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in accounting for manufacturing
Experience in human resources including staffing, benefits and payroll
Experience with inventory, budgeting and forecasting
Strong work ethic, team participation, service skills and excellent oral and written communication
Innate desire to achieve success
Ability to critically think and problem solve without direction
High level of integrity
