Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Director to join their growing organization. Reporting to the Senior Principles and having significant interaction with senior management this position will oversee all finance functions including accounting, cash management, policy development, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, FP&A, budget management and financial reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to wear multiple hats and work in an entrepreneurial and growing business environment.
Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and finalize weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports and metrics
  • Oversee journal entries, P&L creation, and inter-company transactions
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating year-end close with external auditors
  • Reviews and drives improvements in cash management, ensuring financial obligations are met in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Completes all cash management set-up documentation for new and existing department processes; prepares correspondence and proposals directed to and for cash management.
  • Timely reconciles cash application and disbursements.
  • Monitors cash transactions to ensure that account balances to the report and any unusual items are investigated.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of inventory accuracy
  • Ensure general ledger information is presented in a timely and accurate manner to reflect current Company and affiliated company financial results
  • Generating financial projections and analyzing variances between projected and actual
  • Development of budgets and forecasts.
  • Seek continuous process improvements of departmental processes and within cross-functional teams.
  • Oversee payroll and benefit administration.
  • Manage a small, but impactful accounting and finance team
Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience preferably within an Accounting Firm (Big 5)
  • CPA or CMA required
  • Knowledge of GAAP required
  • Strong financial systems acumen
  • In-depth knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis, including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements.
  • Familiarity with bank and credit union cash management systems
  • Cannabis experience preferred but not required
  • Extensive experience in Excel is a must for modeling, forecasting and reporting purposes
  • Ability to delegate effectively to meet concurrent deadlines
  • Seasoned supervisory skills
  • Detail and results oriented and excellent accuracy
  • Analytical with good oral and writing presentation skills
  • Ability to take leadership and drive continuous improvement
  • Recognize unfavorable trends or potential financial difficulties and recommend or implement corrective actions
