POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Cultivation and Stewardship is charged with the management of a comprehensive program to foster and nurture lasting relationships between Hi-Hope Service Center and its current and prospective donors, and to steward gifts at all giving levels. The Director will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and CEO to more fully engage Hi-Hope’s donors and prospects in the life of the organization, to build confidence that their gifts have impact, and to help strengthen their philanthropic support. In addition, the position is responsible for maximizing the revenue potential of organizational special events through effective planning and execution. This position reports to the Chief Development Officer and works collaboratively with internal teams, as well as external stakeholders.

Essential Functions Statement(s) Cultivation and Stewardship
- Actively manage the individual and corporate donor pipeline through the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of current and prospective donor
- Develop and implement effective cultivation and solicitation strategies to improve retention, identify and invite donors to upgrade their support, and reengage lapsed donors
- Establish and manage information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, on-going communications and continued cultivation of existing and prospective donors to enhance their relationship with the Hi-Hope Service Center
- Design, document, and implement a systematic and integrated donor relations program that encompasses donor recognition events, impact reports, and other projects as identified
- Proactively support the stewardship responsibilities of the CEO and Chief Development Officer by assisting them in establishing and coordinating individualized stewardship plans for existing and prospective donors
- Conduct research to identify donor prospects, build donor/prospect profiles, and provide comprehensive briefings to Chief Development Officer and CEO
- Participate in sponsor benefits and gift fulfillment activities
- Develop system for and produce metrics that illustrate impact of cultivation and stewardship strategies
- Research, draft, and edit accurate and compelling donor correspondence, communications pieces and narrative reports, and generate new ideas and strategies to enhance stewardship programs
- Track donor relations and stewardship activities within established database to enhance relationships and increase the likelihood of continued contributions
- Contribute to regular brainstorming on innovative, unique and personalized stewardship communications and experiences; Essential Functions Statement(s) Special Events & Peer-to-Peer Fundraising
- Manage the planning and execution of organizational fundraising special events that engages various audiences and builds key relationships with prospects, supporters, donors, and volunteers at all levels
- Develop and maintain a master calendar of events and monitor progress status against calendar, timelines and pre-determined benchmarks
- Support Chief Development Officer and CEO to identify, solicit, and secure new and existing corporate sponsors for special events
- Implement events using a special event committee model to raise profile, attract sponsors and increase ticket sales by recruiting and managing the following: Event Chairs, InKind Contributors, Hosts Committees, Fundraising Committees, and Marketing Committees
- Develop positive volunteer interactions through recruitment, mentoring, and providing comprehensive support for volunteer leadership and participants to develop and achieve personal fundraising plans
- Serve as primary point of contact for Peer-To-Peer fundraising participants by offering technical support and coaching to help them reach personal fundraising goals
- Build successful relationships with families, sponsors, event participants, corporations and volunteers for the purposes of promoting Hi-Hope and facilitating opportunities for event engagement
- Maintain accurate records and data for all events and share organization with stakeholders as necessary or when requested
- Work diligently, using in-person, phone and email contact to obtain and convert prospects to participants or sponsors
- Conduct meetings and presentations to various groups, including corporate employee groups, civic groups, churches, colleges and universities, etc. for the purpose of recruiting participants
- Direct the cultivation, solicitation, follow-up and recognition communications for participation and donations related to all special events
- Prepare routine reports to share with Chief Development Officer and CEO through analysis of event metrics
- Act as an on-site manager during all special events, overseeing activities, staff, vendors, and volunteers to ensure satisfaction of participants, and resolutions of problems

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor's Degree required
Experience: Minimum 5 years experience with direct responsibility for generating development resources through annual fund, special events, sponsorship development, peer-to-peer fundraising, grants, and/or major gifts
Computer Skills: Knowledge and proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, Constant Contact, MailChimp, WordPress, Google Analytics, and Google AdWords
