Our client, a rapidly growing and diversified industry leader in the Cannabis industry, is seeking a Director of Communications and Public Relations to lead their internal and external communications strategy and activities, shape their public communications program and set strategy to drive their corporate expansion and growth.
This role requires an effective strategist and hands-on leader with the ability to multitask and be accountable in an fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders to lead the creation, management and execution of sophisticated marketing and communications programs and campaigns including PR, investor relations, internal/employee communications, digital/social marketing, event marketing across multiple corporate brands.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
- Messaging: Lead and develop all internal, external and investor-facing communication messaging and coordinate with the marketing and exec team to craft corporate communications strategy, including thought leadership, public relations, investor relations and public policy.
- Public Relations: Develop the consumer PR strategy and direct execution for portfolio of consumer cannabis brands, collaborating with their PR agency to deliver on the strategy and attain press/media in preferred outlets.
- Investor Relations: Manage Investor Relations team, investor communications, press releases, media requests, investor events, roadshows, and media outlets.
- Metrics: Develop, track and reporting on metrics for all communications activities.
- Social Media: Develop and manage social media content; blog, website, social media, email, and create outside-the-box strategic social initiatives aligned to business objectives.
Job Requirements
- Knowledge and experience in the cannabis industry is a plus.
- Education: Bachelors degree in communications, advertising/marketing or equivalent required and a graduate degree in a related field is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years experience in B2B and B2C consumer marketing working on the client or agency side
- Investor Relations: Public company experience preferred managing investor relations functions.
- PR: Corporate and B2C PR environments, event production, managing PR/creative/marketing agencies, budgets, creating employer branding-driven strategies.
- Social Media: Experience with strategy, management and tracking social and online content including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram etc.
