Job Description
Reporting to and partnering with the Chief Marketing Officer, the Director of Communications will be responsible for elevating the organization’s visibility and position in the industry, protecting the company’s reputation, creating compelling marketing communications content and keeping key stakeholders informed and engaged.
As the “Chief Storyteller”, the Director of Communications will shape and manage the company narrative bringing our portfolio of brands to life to various audiences across multiple channels. This role will oversee the content development for all forms of communications including PR, digital, advertising, collateral, retail, e-commerce, etc. This role will also be responsible for the corporate website, internal employee communications and supporting investor relations communications.
Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

Develop and implement a corporate-wide communications plan.

Collaborate with marketing team members (Marketing and Creative Services), agencies and cross-functional partners to translate brand strategies into content that informs, engages and motivates target audiences across marketing channels.

Develop and/or refine guidelines for brand voice and tone ensuring consistency across communications.

Produce content for all marketing channels including digital (retail and product websites, email, blogs etc.), advertising, sales collateral, retail point-of-purchase, e-commerce, etc.

Lead the media relations strategy and execution working closely with PR agency and Director of Public Affairs; manage press release development and distribution process coordinating cross-functional team as needed.

Responsible for issue and crisis management producing immediate and effective communications and resolutions.

Manage corporate PharmaCann website.

Develop and implement social media strategy to align with business goals; manage content calendar generating timely, relevant and impactful content across social platforms.

Produce regular employee communications: e-newsletter, announcements, etc.

Support other communication needs of organization such as presentations, speeches and talking points.

Manage, coach and develop a Social Media Manager and Senior Copywriter.

Manage PR agency relationship and freelance writers as needed.
PharmaCann, LLC builds and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for marijuana-based products. We currently operate in the states of Illinois, New York and Massachusetts as a medical cannabis provider to qualifying patients with three production facilities and nine dispensaries. As we continue to expand, we will become a national provider of both medical cannabis and adult-use products. Qualifications

10+ years of related communications or marketing experience; both B2B and B2C experience preferred.

Start-up and PR agency experience a plus.

Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, or other related fields.

Supervisory management experience required.

Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.

Proficient in writing for multiple formats, long and short, editorial and marketing, etc.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong project management and multi-tasking skills.

Team player but can also work well independently.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and evolving industry and company.
