Director of Cannabis Processing

Responsibilities

• This person will have experience in Extraction with a background in cannabis (other organic or inorganic chemistry for medical purposes is also strongly recommended).
• Must have previous medically infused production, hash and oil extraction techniques and familiarity with CO2 and Solventless extraction processes.
• This position is responsible for commercial production and the opportunity to develop and refine processes and procedures for the sect of the company.
• Responsible for the preparation and execution of extraction and processing of product in accordance with state and local regulations.
• Ensures consistency and efficacy of product through quality control testing and procedures
• Performs all assigned duties required to ensure a clean and safe production facility
• Follows all defined Good Manufacturing Processes to ensure the highest level of safety
• Completes sanitation of all production equipment and tools including workspace, lab equipment, containers, and appliances
• Assists with the creation of batch production records and labels in accordance with State and local standard
• Delegates and fully understands the weighing, packaging, labeling and documentation of all products, as well as the tracking of batch numbers, lot numbers and expiration dates
• Ensure the appropriate information is accurate and in accordance with State law.
• Works with local, state-approved laboratory to send samples for regular testing of extracted product and document all results for compliance with State regulations
• Ability to master and control all equipment in a laboratory-type environment including CO2 Extraction
• Ability to work on process development and improvement
• Document all production and batch reports
• Familiar with Seed to Sale Tracking Systems
• Preferable experience with infusing cannabis oil into a variety of products (pills, tinctures, vape cart, etc)
• Ability to create and follow SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures)
• Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
• Work towards meeting department goals around efficiency, yields, and cost.

Requirements

• Acute problem-solving skills coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude.
• Must be highly motivated, detail oriented and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience following strict SOP's
• Excellent research and data organization skills
• Good Documentation Practices
• Knowledge of medical marijuana law and medicinal benefits
• Experience with Supercritical Fluid Extraction in a Lab that adheres to strict health and safety policies and procedures, preferably a regulated field producing cannabis-infused or pharmaceutical products
• Strong knowledge in pharmaceutical formulation and plant genetics
• Expertise in subcritical and supercritical CO2 extraction methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
• 2+ years of commercial cannabis extraction experience required
• 3+ years of real world laboratory experience
• Must be able to provide industry references

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 /year
