Responsible and accountable for maintaining all dispensary supplies in an orderly manner and assisting the Director of Patient Care and the Patient Care Coordinator Supervisor in daily responsibilities. In addition, must be able to take direction for assignments to stock clinics and maintain supplies for dental students, faculty and staff, be available for work during clinic hours assigned for student instruction and clinic development and attend meetings approved by the School of Dental Medicine that require advancement of the position, in procurement and other related areas.
CHARACTERISTIC JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in maintaining inventory and accountability of all dispensary supplies;

Report to immediate Supervisor related issues regarding disposable supplies (i.e. expiration dates, torn packaging, etc.);

Load all items into computer program and track / monitor availability;
-
Receive all new items into computer program and stock and dispense new items accordingly;
-
Create barcode-tracking system to mitigate search times for products;
-
Request and receive sample products through vendors to limit expenses of supplemental supplies;
-
Troubleshoot discrepancies within the order process;
-
Receive hazardous materials, store items and facilitate disposal process;
-
Maintain and update all inventory MSDS documents.

Store and dispense educational material for faculty;
-
Sign-out and track loaned equipment for students, faculty and staff;
-
Ensure dispensary has ample supplies for students, faculty and staff;
-
Work with students, faculty and staff to trend upcoming usage and order supplies accordingly;
-
Place and track orders through Vendors via LECOM staff in Pennsylvania;
-
Track supply usage and document in computer program for inventory control;
-
Conduct weekly checks of OSHA mandated equipment including, but not limited to, eyewash stations;
-
Be crossed trained as a Patient Care Coordinator and other applicable positions to learn the full flow of the Dental Practices;

Check-in/out patients answer telephone and verify personal information for billing purposes;

Assist in showing students front office business operations;
-
Responsible and accountable to supervise and manage patient practice area;
-
Work in conjunction with the students, faculty and staff to maintain patient flow;
-
Responsible for reporting End of Day (“EOD”) and balancing reports for the Financial Officer;
-
Protect money, checks, and credit cards and collect insurance information;
-
Contribute and be responsible for overall student success;

Contribute directly to the Mission of LECOM embodying the essence of Osteopathic Principles and Practices by assisting with Institutional fundraising and participating in the LECOM Scholarship Auction;

Participate in scholarly activity so to enrich and broaden the student learning experience;

Commit to being a representative of LECOM by being actively involved in the community, including, but not limited to, serving on Boards, participating in community fundraisers and overall outreach; and
-
Accept other duties needed/assigned for the departmental needs.

Minimum Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Must possess required knowledge and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed:

Computer experience in the dental or other related field to allow for AxiUm computer program entry;

Compliance with State and Federal Regulations and Safety Protocols, at the practice level;

Protect equipment (office, dental, facility);

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to: a High school diploma or equivalent GED with experience working in a customer service oriented environment required. Dental assisting certificate or equivalent preferred
