ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to be all inclusive)

  • Oversees and ensures plant health, including water maintenance.
  • Perform all tasks in the light deprivation greenhouse perpetual harvest grow:
    • Mother plant maintenance, tissue culture, cloning, transplanting, nutrients and pH management, water management, positive airflow, temperature and humidity control, pest and disease control, plant transfer from veg to flowering.
    • Manage plant scheduling and organization to precisely project all plant needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to produce the best results for maximum plant yield.
    • Cataloguing and maintaining organization of plants from seed-to-harvest using our seed-to-sale system management program.
    • Knowledge of pest and disease control and management.
  • Maintain and follow the cultivation department policies and procedures.
  • Wash and sanitize all equipment. Scout all equipment, ensuring all tools are free of pests, viruses or disease.
  • Demonstrate accurately and thoroughly in a timely manner to meet production standards. Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the cultivation facility while performing job duties.
  • Uphold quality of finished product through employing attention to detail while manicuring flower.
  • Breakdown flowers off stem and stalk of plant to separate unusable waste from useable product; employee must track the amount of unusable waste for each batch.
  • After breakdown of plant, employee must identify and separate fan leaves, stems and sugar leaves on the flower.
  • Account for each by-product type processed off the flower; adding stems and fan leaves separately to “waste” for proper tracking and disposal by managers and trim/sugar leaves to “useable by-product” (trim).
  • Must be able to adapt to various strains, styles and types of cannabis they are cultivating; adjusting techniques to maintain a steady pace and quality.
  • Works in a timely manner to efficiently meet goals while consistently producing quality product.
  • Employee must be able to follow basic instructions and take constructive criticism from their managers to maintain quality standards and production goals.
  • Cultivation staff is responsible for clean-up of all processing areas and equipment at the end of every shift.
  • Recognize and acknowledge the skills of key team members and utilize their strengths to the benefit of the team
  • Clearly communicate expectations and objectives with team members.

PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)

  • Knowledge and enforcement of the policies, procedures and goals of the company.
  • Advanced cannabis cultivation experience, traditional and organic cultivation methods preferred.
  • Speak and be literate in English to the extent of writing, reading and understand printed regulations, orders, instructions, etc., an individual who is bilingual in Spanish at a fluent level is highly desired.
  • Skill in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, projecting consequences of proposed actions, and implementing recommendations in support of goals.
  • Skill in planning, organizing, assigning and coordinating the activities and resources of staff.
  • Ability to:
    • Exercise discretionary authority.
    • Communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences, cross functional/departmental.
    • Use initiative and independent judgment appropriately.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regularly required to perform carrying, grasping, lifting, walking, standing, some bending/crouching, stooping, stretching, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while maintaining focus.
  • Ability to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull and balance up to 50 lbs. (100 lbs. with assistance) and must be able to do so with extreme care and caution when working with plants and product.
  • Must not be allergic to or have a fear of insects.
  • Work is performed in a fast-paced cannabis grow location.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Work is performed inside greenhouse facilities exposed to temperatures ranging above a constant 75°F.
  • Work is subject to weather conditions, including rain and extreme hot or cold temperatures.
  • May require working rotating shifts with varied hours/day, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Periodic travel may be required for training purposes or purchasing materials and equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of three years of prior experience working in a cultivation facility; prior ag-related experience will be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; continuing education will be required to maintain certifications and licenses and/or increase industry knowledge.
  • At least of 21 years old and pass required background check.
  • Experience working in the cannabis and/or health industry highly desirable.
